Dear Friends,
It’s so easy to get lost focusing on things that we don’t have rather than being grateful for the things that we do. By this point, the pandemic has directly affected everyone, and we all approach this unforeseen change in different ways.
As a junior in college, I never expected to experience my third year completely online and essentially from my room. Consistently, I felt unaccomplished, and questioned whether or not I should take a gap year, or longed for a different time.
However, one of the biggest struggles I’ve perceived through all of this is how paralyzing it can be to compare yourself to those around you - to peers, idols, or success stories - while your 2020 felt like it was in a stand-still.
Throughout the 2020 year and looking to 2021, the pandemic has in some way halted everybody’s personal and professional lives.
As we continue to reach unforeseen measures of uncertainty, we cling to the hope that our TVs will announce news which will bring about another cycle of promise only to be disappointed in the end.
We have challenged our roles in this unstable world - whether we are doing enough or too little during this time, faced hardships, and prayed for change.
Regardless, we are exactly where we are supposed to be right now.
We can’t change the circumstances through which we live our lives, but we can change the way that we choose to perceive them.
Keep your head up!
